Instructions

When you run the Monitor this is the screen that you will see.
Select or enter your user name and password then press enter or click OK to login. (Note: password is case sensitive)
If your user name is not present, contact your system administrator.
When you have successfully logged into the Monitor application a screen similar to the main image shown above will be displayed.
The Application name, [Application title] and version information is shown in the form header.
This form can be moved, maximised or minimised to the Taskbar.
There are 6 distinct areas that make up this screen.
1. The Status Bar - Shows current system information
- System status (Online or Offline)
- Action message information
- Message types shown in Message list
- Current date and time

The red bar and audible offline sound - are used to alert the user to the system being unavailable.
2. Message list - shows recent messages based on a users Message settings. Important messages will take priority in this small window - which can also be viewed full screen.
Left click a message to show it has been read.
Left click a read ACTion message to show the Action Resolved menu.
Right click the message list to show Full Screen Messages menu. (Right click again to Restore Part Screen Messages)
There are 5 parts to the message list, as shown when in full screen mode.

Action Messages (Type: ACT) will be shown in this list in red text with an audible alarm sounding until the message has been read. (left mouse click)
These messages will remain until the action stated is resolved. (Left click the action message and select this menu item)

Which will display this form.

Enter any notes about the resolved action and press Enter or click Save.
A Resolved message (Type: RES) will be shown in the Message list.
3. Navigation window - allows users to view records in the data window and access forms.

Items available in this window will vary dependant on the system set-up and user permissions.
Select folders and forms using the mouse, in order to expand the folder view, show data or forms.
4. Staff List window - shows real time staff information.

Staff currently on shift are show with a colour icon, staff not on shift are shown greyed.
To change the list order, view full screen data or change the columns shown - right click the grey list header. If you right click on Name this popup menu would be shown.

To select a staff member, left click.
To select multiple staff members, left click then hold down Ctrl or Shift and left click others.
To select a full section, left click the blank section items. (you can select multiple sections using Ctrl or Shift)
To trigger an action for one or more staff members - right click the selected staff and select from the popup menu shown.
Note: Some items may not be available, dependant on permissions / selected staff members.

Send In Message

Opens a form that creates a message into the system (that will apply to selected staff)

Send Out Message
|
Opens a form to allow creation and send of an SMS message to send to selected staff via the GSM network

Send Instant Message
|
Opens an instant message window, where messages typed are shown to selected staff via this system

Send Email
|
Opens the default email client to send to selected staff
|
|
Show Location
|
Shows location(s) on local stored maps (if available)
|
|
Show Leave
|
Shows leave data for selected staff
|
5. Search Panel - allows users to locate specific data by searching on any data field available.
6. Data window - allows users to add / edit / delete records based on the users permission level.
