Home visits: Employees at a stranger's home.

Employees in the office are often secure in the knowledge that colleagues, security staff, CCTV and alarm buttons are all there in the event of a visitor becoming abusive or violent. Away from the office is a different matter.

No Security Staff  No Surveillance Cameras  No Silent Alarms to summon help

Site visits: Employees working in unmanned / hazardous locations or with machinery / chemicals.

Do you or your employees ever spend time alone during the working day?

What would happen in the event of a violent incident or an accident?

Lone workers should ask themselves these questions:
  • Who knows where I am?
  • Who knows when I should be back?
  • Who knows what to do if i don't arrive back when expected?
  • Who will notice if I don't arrive for my next job or appointment?
  • Who will take action if I need help?
As per HSE guidelines, employees required to work alone can expect procedures are followed in order to comply with duties towards lone workers. (Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.)

With the best intentions manual procedures can often fail, i.e. the expected time back at the office is written on a board, this time passes but is not noticed by colleagues busy with their own work.

Easy-Link will offer peace of mind and protection for staff when they're away from the office or working alone.

How does it work?

Easy-Link replaces manual processes and uses the mobile phone network (GSM) Short Message Service (SMS) - to record real-time data such as current job, location, time required etc.

The system verifies and processes the messages and where required sends an acknowledgement or response to the phone.

i.e. Staff can use a standard mobile phone to send location and time required details into the system, and get a response message that confirms these details have been recorded. This will allow lone workers to enter a premises reassured that they are being monitored and help will be sent to the right location if required.

The 2 main advantages of using Easy-Link are:

  1. The phone can also be used as a silent alarm when emergency assistance is required.
    (1 key press and hold)
  2. Overdue workers are never overlooked.
